Dramas

Last Night at the Ha-Ra, the radio theater production, was finished in 2021. It is based on the album release from 2018 and a script I wrote in 2019. The cast recordings were done at Soup Studio in London in 2020, with me joining over Zoom. A real Covid project.

Log line: A troubled vet’s decision to save a sex trafficked immigrant sparks a lifetime of love and murder, betrayal and redemption, and sex and suicide that leads to a final mortal goodbye on the last night at the Ha-Ra bar in San Francisco’s gritty Tenderloin neighborhood.

The amazing cast with select readings from the play includes:

Lou
Daisy
Teo
Rainée Noche
Doc
Fang Bo
Jeze

Richard Booth
Rosie Dunjay
Thomas Ward-Thomas
Samantha Gray
Bill Magill
Nicky Cheung
Samantha Gray

The audio drama was produced by my long-time collaborator Russell Cottier. Daniel Logan engineered the dialog recordings and many of the sound effects, and casting was done by Eki Osewele of Artistes Collective Talent Management. A very British production for a very San Francisco story. All of the street sounds in the play were recorded in the Tenderloin and the bar chatter was recorded at the Ha-Ra Club. I want to extend a big thank you to Mike Hottle for the generous use of his Zoom H4 recorder on my recording trips to San Francisco and elsewhere.

And with that introduction we give you the full audio theater production of Last Night at the Ha-Ra.
